Tiffen ND 3.0

I am the first kid on my block to get the new ten stop Tiffen 3.0 netrual density filter. This one fits the Olympus 12-40 (62mm) for the OMD-M1. The M1 has this incredible feature (livebulb) where long exposures display on the camera as they build up during the exposure. I can't wait for the opportunity to use this very dark piece of kit on some water shots. I also obtained a 1.2 (4 stop) filter for less dof during the day.

I had the chance to read this book over the holidays. This updated version (2012) was an excelent refresher on what I've forgotten. John Beardsworth has detailed both the historical methods and the current best practices. The addition of some Lightroom and Silver Efex pro content was valuable as those are the tools I currently use.

This text is highly recommended for photographers interested in the fine craft of digital black & white image creation.

This image taken with an Olympus OMD E-M1 and a Canon 50mm FD Marco lens wide open at f3.5.  Focus peeking turned out to work with a manual lens and proved very useful.
