I have successfully produced a print from this new (to me) printer. I used the Canon premium platinum paper. The print has a fantastic and gloss finish. Its just what I wanted from this dye ink printer. I used the Canon custom icc profile for the paper. It's not obvious where to turn off the printer drivers colour management when using an icc profile. Eventually I found the setting buried three levrls deep. This was the only issue with the printer.
